rodolfo paglialunga of vionnet explained its bright spring 2012 collection as, "everything in life is so hard now, i wanted a return to beauty and elegance." so he did a 30s inspired collection which also was the era when vionnet was flourishing. there were definitely some iffy pieces and some that looked like paglialunga was trying too hard, putting too much stuff in one look. to me, the best pieces were the simple, clean designs that speak for themselves.
