Vionnet Spring 2011
vionnet has quiet a history. madeleine vionnet was the french designer who created this brand. she is best-known for her elegant grecian-style dresses and for introducing bias cut to the fashion world. vionnet dominated haute couture in the 1930s. her dresses were worn by the like of marlene dietrich, katharine hepburn, and greta garbo.
the current vionnet is under the direction of rodolfo paglialunga and has a steady following in hollywood. although the pre-fall and fall collections were disappointing, i loved its spring collection.

Rodarte Spring 2011
i wasn't a big fan of rodarte's signature look which was artfully disheveled/destroyed knits and cloths.
however.....this collection was unexpected in the best sense. the look is much more clean and put-together but it still has that rodarte-quality of mixing patterns and fabric. the collection was dreamy and recalled ethereal forest nymphs.
