Altuzarra Spring RTW 2012

great collection!
with new york fashion shows, it's usually more casual and very ready-to-wear than the european shows. and when it comes to casual wear i lean towards the urban-chic style (hence my liking for alexander wang and helmut lang). altuzarra also did a wonderful urban wear with sporty element and prints, which seem to be one of the trends for spring 2012. i didn't see too much originality since some of the designs and silhouettes were seen before in other collections but still very solid collection.

Helmut Lang Spring RTW 2012

i love this collection.
nicole and michael colovos (husband-and-wife team) are amazing at what they do which is creating cool, urban clothes. helmut lang, alexander wang, and daryl k are some of the go-to houses for those looking for chic, no-fuss, urban looks. loving the asymmetry, the layers, the prints...everything!

Daryl K Resort 2012

i've only heard of daryl k but i loved its resort 2012 collection (which looks a bit like alexander wang, helmut lang, and acne) that i did some quick wiki search.

daryl kerrigan, irish born but based in new york city, is the designer behind her own label daryl k. she's been around for quiet a while! in the beginning, as in the early 90s, kerrigan wasn't attracted to the fashion scene. without any advertising or pr, she built a name for herself through word-of-mouth. in 1996, she received a perry ellis award for emerging talent from cfda. called "the queen of downtown cool," kerrigan has established a cult following among new yorkers. she is a favorite among fashion personalities like inez van lamsweerd and ellen von unwerth.
