Strict / Interview September 2011

sort of a s&m-ish editorial with the harness and laced up boots and bodice.
at first, i didn't really like this editorial but the more i looked at it i could appreciate it more. i've seen all of the clothes in this editorial presented in at least one other fashion magazine. for instance, the marc jacob outfit in the fourth picture and the stella mccartney dress in the last picture are usually shown in the manner of sweet and feminine. i like that here, we can see it in a more masculine and aggressive way. fashion is about multiple perspectives any way, right?

Gucci Fall/Winter 2011 Ad Campagin

gucci's sultry ad campagin. to me i see 70's vibe mixed with hitchcock-ian female allure.

Tom Ford Fall/Winter 2011 Ad Campaign

i used to love tom ford. i still do but i liked him as a designer much more during his gucci and yves saint laurent years. his much-hyped and super exclusive spring/summer 2011 show under his own lable, tom ford, was disappointing. i don't care how much the industry people liked his clothes because they are the same people hailing karl lagerfeld as a design genius when his previous two shows say otherwise. having said all that and at the risk of sounding contradictory, i like tom ford's sensibilities. his movie, a single man, was beautiful and his ad campaigns are always provocative and glamorous.
